It is well corniced and it’s ridges are knife-edged on all sides. From Ralam village you get an excellent view of the peak. Peaks which are nearby are Chaudhara, Chirangwe and Rajrambha. Four attempts were made in the past to conquer it but each time the mountaineers were forced to return halfway as it is quite challenging because of knife -edged ridges and loose rocks. Suitilla peak can be approached from the Ralam village over Yankchar dhurra pass and down to Yankchar glacier. It can be approached from the south face and south west ridge. Climbing Suitilla requires highest standard of rock and ice climbing. The first ascent of Suitilla west was made by a Indo-British team in 2002. |
