synopsis: Many people do get confused between Papsura and Dharamsura. Papsura is a few meters higher than Dharamsura which is situated in the southeast . Dharamsura is considered as the peak of Good and Papsura as the peak of evil. The legend associated with these peaks says that these mountains gain ascendancy over each other according to the forces of good and evil prevail over the world at the time. J.O.M. Roberts made the first ascent on the peak in 1940. next ascent was made after 21 years by a Derbyshire expedition in 1961. Initially Dharamsura was knows as White Sail. It is an open peak and one do not require any special permit to climb this peak.
