synopsis: It was only in 1981 that an ascent was possible on top of this peak by an Indo-French team. Earlier attempts to climb this peak were thwarted since by no means it is an easy peak. Before that five expeditions were carried out mostly from the west ridge and once from the south ridge but all of them turned out to be unsuccessful. From the east ridge it falls steeply to touch the glacier at 5790 m. In certain parts it looks steep and sharp.
