synopsis: Slope of Saife Peak is ideal for skiing but as it is a snow plod there is a possibility of few crevasses on the way. Early in the season entire Swetvarna valley is covered with snow which makes it an ideal destination for ski fanatics. From the top of the ridge one can enjoy the panoramic view of Gangotri Glacier and its peaks specially Shivling and Sudarshan Peak .
An Indo French expedition made first ascent over Saife peak in the year 1981. While coming back they skied down from the peak. |
