Getting There:
The glacier is accessible by following Joshimath-Badrinath road upto Govind-Ghat. Further from Govind-Ghat, you have to make a move of 18kms. up to Ghangaria via Bhyundar village. A further 4 kms. will put you across the famous valley of flowers which is located just at base of Kagbhusndi range of peaks. Ghangaria is the only place to pitch tents in this section.
Synopsis:
The opencut of the glacier is dominated by the thick deposit of debris. Apart from Tiprabamak and adjoining Ratanban glaciers, 16 other glaciers various size and shapes exist in the basin. The melted water stream of these glaciers springs up from a single ice cave at the nose of the Tiprabamak.
