Gangotri

Gangotri, Glacier, Garhwal
Length: 30 Kilo Meters
Location: Garhwal Himalaya, Uttarkashi district.
Surrounding Peaks: Chaukhamba
Surrounding Pass: Kalindi Khal
Surrounding Trek: Gangotri
Getting There: 
The glacier is easily approachable by a well connected motorable road upto Gangotri temple and from there a 17 kms long bridle path follows along the right bank of the Bhagirathi River to Gaumukh, the snout of the glacier.

Synopsis: 
This Glacier is a blend of the several other glaciers that are fed to it and that form an enormous mass of ice. The surface of the Glacier seems muddy because it is dominated by debris.
