The view of this glacier can be enjoyed by following the trail from Juma on the way to Joshimath- Malari road. Doondgiri Village is around 8 kms. Away from Juma. A further 12 kms. foot trek by the side of the Doonagiri stream will make you stand next to the neb of the glacier snout. There also lies another glacier in this valley named “Bagini”. The ambiance around the glacier offers good camping site.
Synopsis:
Dhauli Ganga system of glaciers covers more than 500 glaciers which varies in shapes and sizes. These glaciers lie in deep and slender valleys. The important glaciers here are: Changbang, Girthi, Hoti and Niti glaciers. A stream springing up from this glacier merges into Dhauli Ganga near the Jum village.
