Glaciers in Himalayas

One must know thing about Himalayan Glacies is that Himalayan Glaciers are often called Temperate valley glaciers as they are smaller in size when compared to Polar Regions.
Himalayas well known exotic and picturesque glaciers are in Uttaranchal and attracts visitor from all over the world. Some glaciers of this region are Bandarpunch Glacier, Gangotri Glacier, Namik Glacier, Pindari Glacier.
Other important glaciers of Himalayas are Yamunotri, Gangotri, Zemu, Khumbu, Baltoro and Nubra. Many Perennial Rivers originate from these glaciers, thus forming a huge river system, within the Indian sub-continent.
