It was the first capital of Sikkim. Yuksom was consecrated in 1642 by Lamas from north, west and south and Phuntsong Namgyal was crowned as the first King of Sikkim.
It is the gateway to Shangri- la and is located in the far western corner of Sikkim at the base of forest covered mountains. It is known for it’s natural diversity, fascinating people and mountain peaks.
